PROJECT BRIEF

A place like museum Boijmans Van Beuningen carries a rich history withlots of contributors and brand ambassadors since 1849. But what do thefaces of Boijmans look like today? Since Boijmans is closing for a periodof seven years due to renovation and modernisation we asked theambassadors about their thoughts and hopes for one of the city’s pearls.

"I particulary find the design collection very important, because that really was a reason for me to eventually studydesign."

— Sabine Marcelis

"Maybe, if you do it right, these 7 years will be the most wonderful years of museum Boijmans. Freed from their building."

— Joep van Lieshout

“It is not mine, it belongs to everyone. If you are openminded enough there surely is a lot to gain. This museum is almost like John Cage. Consistent and steady. With beautiful repetitions and new variations.
