The Salon | Mozilla Foundation
In 2023 we gathered at Ox. Space for our first Mozilla Foundation event, initiated to bring Rotterdam and Amsterdam based artists from our community together with some brilliant minds of the Mozilla team to create dialogue around the intersection of AI and creative expression. The event featured engaging circle talks, sparked by renowned speakers Toshi Reagon, Stephanie Afrifa and J. Bob Alotta, artistic offerings and performances, and concluded with a delicious four-course vegan dinner, prepared by chefs Perry de Man and Pepijn Schmeink.
Together & Dedicated, deeply rooted in the local community, envisions an enchanting evening of music, arts, dance, and culture, weaving a captivating narrative of technology's inseparable connection to humanity and the planet. This musical-art and community soiree, in collaboration with Toshi Raegon and MozFest, aims to ignite meaningful conversations and reflections on technology's impact on our lives. In order to manifest this extraordinary event, Together & Dedicated will provide its expertise in a range of areas, including conceptualisation, curation and production of the event, stage design, art exhibition and the visual campaign.
When you think of AI, what comes to mind? Do you see it as a threat or an opportunity? How can we ensure a balanced reality where we don't lose sight of the original purpose of technology? We had an inspiring conversation about this with Jermaine Berkhoudt, Sydney Lowell, Kwan Suppaiboonsuk, Blij Jay Shin, Toshi Reagon, J. Bob Alotta, and Koliwe Majama.
We’re always excited to showcase the brilliant creative minds in our community. As we explored the core values of the Mozilla Foundation while curating our guest list, Obbe van der Weide—a sculptor specializing in 3D printing—immediately came to mind. We knew we had to invite him to conceptualize an art installation for The Salon.
